The Wine Advocate - Evaluation

Chardonnay RONCO CUCCO 2011 - DOC Collio

Here is a creamy and buttery Chardonnay from Northeast Italy (that sees no oak). The 2011 Collio Chardonnay Ronco Cucco opens to a deep, golden color and a thick, viscous appearance. The bouquet is infused with candied fruit, sun-dried apricot, butter, vanilla bean and a smoky touch of crushed granite. In the mouth, the wine throws around some serious weight and richness. Tertiary (aged) aromas make for a beautiful addition and add lots of elegance to the overall effect.

Friulano RONCO CUCCO 2014 - DOC Collio

The 2014 Collio Friulano Ronco Cucco is an easy-going white wine with bright aromas of citrus, pear, white peach and blanched almond. The wine is stripped down to the bare essentials. It shows a lean mouthfeel with a silky texture and short persistence. The soggy 2014 vintage has resulted in many white wines that are on the watery side of the spectrum in terms of consistency.
